7th Annual Home Buyers Expo Set For April 3 at UNF University Center
Free event offers more than 20 educational seminars for buyers, sellers and general public.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The
Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR), in conjunction with The Florida Times-Union, will present the 7th Annual Home Buyers Expo on Saturday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the University Center on the campus of the University of North Florida. The event offers more than 20 seminars covering home buying and selling, along with exhibitors showcasing a variety of real estate products and services. The entire event, including parking, is free and open to the public.

The nuts and bolts of home buying is well covered with multiple courses on mortgages, down payment assistance programs, home inspections, purchase and sales contracts and other important documents, property insurance, and property taxes. Two sessions on short sales/foreclosures are also offered. Sellers can take advantage of seminars on staging a home for sale. Senior citizens and their families will find value in a seminar covering reverse mortgages. Learning how to successfully handle a renovation project is a new seminar addition this year that is beneficial for buyers, sellers or current home or property owners. General interest seminars include homeowners safety and hazards awareness (including hurricane preparedness) from the Duval County Emergency Management Department, as well as how to lower your energy bill from JEA. For a complete list of seminars and speakers, click here.

"The Home Buyers Expo offers quality exhibitors and highly informative seminars for anyone who is thinking about buying or selling a home," said NEFAR President Carol Hill. "We're able to arm visitors with a wealth of knowledge in a short time, at no cost to them whatsoever. Even those with no plans to buy or sell find value in the general interest seminars."

All seminars, except for From The Roof To The Floor, last 45 minutes. From The Roof To The Floor is an informal wrap-up session featuring many of the seminar presenters and runs from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Also on tap is a free drawing for a $500 gas card.

Presenting media sponsors are News/Talk Radio WOKV AM 690 / 106.5 FM and WJXT Channel 4, the local station. WOKV AM 690/FM 106.5 will also broadcast the Home and Garden Show With Wally and Larry live from the event from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
