Fifth Annual Home Buyers Expo Slated for July 19 At UNF

Free event offers 30 seminars, gas card giveaways and family activities

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Potential home buyers and sellers, seniors considering their options and those worried about paying their mortgages will all benefit from the Fifth Annual Home Buyers Expo on July 19 from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the University Center, on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. The free event, produced by the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors and The Florida Times-Union, offers 30 seminars covering all aspects of the home buying, selling, and homeownership process, along with a trade Expo

In addition to seminars on the nuts and bolts of home buying, the Expo includes new sessions of interest to sellers, including "Staging Your Home to Sell." For those who are encountering difficulties with mortgage payments and trying to avoid foreclosure, the "Is a Short Sale Right for You?" seminar is especially timely. Programs are also available for all levels of potential buyers, along with programs on reverse mortgages for senior citizens and/or their caregivers.

General interest sessions include "Hurricane Preparedness for Homeowners," "Property Taxes: What Home Buyers Need To Know," and "Savings Without Sacrifice: Energy and Water Savings Tips." Two sessions of "The Truth About Northeast Florida's Real Estate Climate: Put Your Money Where Your Life Is" is also beneficial for all consumers; providing a realistic residential real estate outlook for our area, backed by expert analysis.

"We have really taken the Home Buyers Expo to a new level this year," said NEFAR Communications Director Melanie Green. "We're offering more seminars than ever before, on a wide variety of topics that are truly relevant in light of our current market conditions. Even those with no plans to buy or sell right now can benefit from this free event."

All seminars last 45 minutes and pre-registration is not required. Drawings for free gas card will also be available, through registration at the Florida Times-Union's booth. Children will enjoy the free face painting provided by a whimsical clown.
