Fourth Annual NEFAR Charity Bass Fishing Tournament Set For April 28

All Proceeds Benefit Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center

JACKSONVILLE / PALATKA, FL - For the fourth consecutive year, the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR) will raise funds for Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka through a catch-and-release Charity Bass Fishing Tournament. NEFAR donates one hundred percent of all proceeds raised to the Care Center, with more than $37,000 having been donated in the first three years.

Two-person fishing teams leave the Palatka City Dock at safe light and weigh-in is scheduled for 3 p.m. Teams compete for prizes including a $2,500 guaranteed payback for first prize (largest total aggregate weight of fish caught). There is an 80 percent payback to one in every five boats. Fish must be a minimum of 12 inches long and there is a five fish limit. An additional $250 cash drawing for boaters immediately follows the Tournament.

Sponsor opportunities are available as follows: under $100 - Fingerlings; $100 - It's A Keeper; $250 - Reel It In; $500 - Hook, Line and Sinker; $1,000 - Angler's Envy; and $2,500 - Big Bass Daddy. Barbecue plates by Jerry Stalvey will be for sale at the event, with a portion of the proceeds also benefiting the Care Center. For sponsorship or registration information, contact Terri Ellis at (386) 325-2965 or Glenn East at (904) 394-9494, ext. 1209.

Volunteer staffing is provided by NEFAR's Putnam Council of Realtors and Haven Hospice Administrator Marsha Davis-Flowers and the Haven Hospice team. Tournament Director Mike Oglesbee provides his expertise and time free of charge each year to ensure a successful Tournament.
