NEFAR members to serve on NAR 2022 board and committees

Several members of the Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS® (NEFAR) have been named by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) to serve on either its board of directors or various committees in 2022.

Diane Cook, Clark LaBlond, Gonzalo Mejia, Sally Suslak, Jeanne Denton-Scheck, Diana Galavis, and Cathy Whatley will serve on the Board of Directors in 2022. Meanwhile, Andrew Bell, Rory Dubin, Russell Grooms, Nicole Jenson, Marc Jernigan, Missi Howell, Tiea Vincent, and Carol Anne Zingone have been named to serve in 2022 on NAR committees.

Appointed by NEFAR, Cook, LaBlond, Suslak, and Denton-Scheck will serve as large board representatives on NAR’s Board of Directors. Mejia, who will be a NEFAR director in 2022, was named as a state-allocated director by Florida Realtors® this year and his term will end in 2024.

Galavis, who is NEFAR’s treasurer and will be NEFAR’s president-elect in 2022, is currently serving as a Florida Realtors® state-allocated director. Her term will end in 2023.

A past president for NAR, Whatley is serving a multi-year term on the NAR board and her term will end in 2023.

Each board member has also been assigned to work on one or more NAR committees. Cook will serve on the Consumer Communications Committee. LaBlond, who is also a member of NEFAR’s board of directors, will serve as a member-at-large on the Diversity Committee. Mejia will serve as a member-at-large on the Leadership Identification and Development Committee. Suslak has been named as chairman of the Single-Family Investment Management Committee and is also a member of the Fair Housing Policy Committee. Denton-Scheck will serve on the State and Local Issues Policy Committee as a member and government affairs director. Galavis was named as a member-at-large to the Insurance Committee. Whatley will continue to be a member of the Past Presidents’ Advisory Group and is a member of NAR’s executive committee with a term ending in 2025.

Bell, who is a NEFAR director, was tapped to serve on the Idea Exchange Council for Brokers as a regional representative for region 5.

Dubin, who is NEFAR’s board secretary, will serve for another year as a member-at-large on the CIPS Advisory Board.

Grooms will be a member of the RPAC Trustees Federal Disbursement Committee as a regional representative for region 5. His term ends in 2023.

Jenson, who is CEO of realMLS, will continue to serve on the Membership Policy and Board Jurisdiction Committee as a member-at-large. Her three-year term will end in 2022.

Jernigan will serve as an at-large member of the Research Committee. Joining him on the Research Committee will be Howell, NEFAR’s current president. She was named as a member-at-large residential specialist.

Vincent will serve as a member-at-large on the 2022 Leading Edge Advisory Board. She is currently a NEFAR director and will serve as secretary on the NEFAR Board of Directors in 2022.

Zingone, who is president of the realMLS Board of Directors and a NEFAR director, will serve as an at-large member of the Member Communications Committee.
