NEFAR Community Affairs to collect school supplies to aid adult literacy program

During the two-week period between Monday, July 24 and Monday, August 7, NEFAR's Community Affairs Task Force will collect school supplies during a back-to-school drive to benefit the Literacy Alliance of Northeast Florida, Inc.

Please drop off your donations in a bin placed at the NEFAR Resource Center located at 7801 Deercreek Club. Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32256.

Items Needed:
  • Notebooks
  • Pens,
  • Paper
  • Pencils
  • Backpacks or tote bag
  • High-Low Books for Adults (High interest and low literacy). All books are welcome and may be ordered from here.

Donations will be delivered to the Literacy Alliance of Northeast Florida on Wednesday, August 9.

Located in the Jessie Ball DuPont Center at 40 E. Adams St. in Jacksonville, the Literacy Alliance is a non-profit organization that provides free literacy instruction to adults ages 16-80 who seek to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. The nonprofit offers the largest free adult literacy program in the community and is one of the largest in the state of Florida.
