An expert in the science of influence and persuasion will be the keynote speaker during Florida Realtors District 1 Conference Wednesday, April 13, at the Marriott Jacksonville Hotel on Salisbury Road.
John Palumbo, an award-winning, international speaker and author, will deliver a talk entitled, “Become the Unsalesman,” in front of an audience of REALTORS® from the five real estate boards and associations that comprise District One. Included in the mix will be members from Amelia Island-Nassau County Association of REALTORS®, Gainesville-Alachua County Association of REALTORS®, Lake City Board of REALTORS®, St. Augustine-St. Johns County Board of REALTORS®, and the Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS® (NEFAR).
District 1 President Ron Harris, who is a member of NEFAR, will preside over the event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the hotel ballroom. Registration is $20 and includes a boxed lunch and networking opportunities. More than $2,000 in door prizes will be distributed to those still in attendance by the end of the conference. The grand prize this year is a $1,000 Amazon gift certificate.
Palumbo, a businessman and professional speaker who is based in Jacksonville, has written several books and lectures internationally on consumer behavior, sales psychology, and personal development. He is the owner and chief executive officer of The Sterling Group, Inc., a company he founded in 1982. Author of several books, e-books, audio books, and journal articles, Palumbo has written several titles of particular interest to REALTORS® including, “What’s Your Sales DNA” “Close and Grow Rich,”, and “Selling at the Top, Middle, or Bottom of Any Market.”
He is also the principal of Bankruptcy Asset Management, a company which targets the acquisition of undervalued and unusual assets. In addition, he is a frequent guest expert on local TV and often consults on matters of bankruptcy, probate, and trust estates with banks.
Those who attend the conference will also hear from several speakers from Florida Realtors® including Margy Grant, CEO; Juana Watkins, Vice President of Law & Policy and General Counsel; and Erica Plemmons, Economist and Director of Housing Statistics.
A Candidate Meet and Greet will also be included in the program.
