Ulysses G. “Skip” Skipper, Jr.

May 26, 1958 – August 25, 2021

It is with great sadness that the Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS® has learned of the passing of Ulysses G. “Skip” Skipper, Jr., a well-known REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty in Mandarin and a NEFAR member since 2003. A celebration of Mr. Skipper’s life will be held Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32223. At the request of his family, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care at support.communityhospice.com.

Mr. Skipper was well suited for his career in real estate as he was the kind of person who “never met a stranger.” He relished assisting his clients in finding their dream homes. He began his real estate career with Coldwell Banker Walter Williams, Devonshire. For the past 12 years, he was an award-winning REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Vanguard, where he regularly achieved top-producer status as a listing and selling agent and earned numerous awards locally, including being named as a Coldwell Banker Presidential Premiere Associate. In fact, Mr. Skipper consistently ranked among the top agents within Coldwell Banker Vanguard for his production year after year, and regularly earned the FIVE STAR REAL ESTATE AGENT designation by Jacksonville Magazine for Best in Client Satisfaction.

“Skip’s legacy will be his never-ending efforts to mentor and support other agents at any time needed and with an encouraging and beaming smile,” said Jerry Smith, his former broker at Coldwell Banker Walter Williams.

Mr. Skipper also held the Cartus Network Buyer Specialist designation, as well as the Cartus Marketing Specialist and Cartus Referral Specialist certifications for working with relocation buyers and sellers. In addition, he was a VYSTAR team member who enjoyed working with dedicated buyers and sellers and first-time home buyers.

He is survived by Laura, his wife of 37 years; his daughter Jordan (Skipper) Swilley and her husband, Ben; and his grandson, Benson Skipper Swilley.
