Sheila Daak
September 3, 1950 – July 28, 2022

It is with great sadness that NEFAR has learned of the death of one of its longtime members Sheila Daak of Realty Sense, Inc., in Orange Park.

While seeking medical help at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Sheila passed away in her sleep between radiation treatments on July 28. She was 71.

Sheila grew up in Kailua, Hawaii, and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and later earned a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University. She married her husband, Dale Arnold Daak, 46 years ago, and in 1980 the couple adopted three children from South Korea – Candice, Michael, and Jeremy.

A talented salesperson, Sheila began her career with Dow Chemical and over the years won numerous sales awards while with Dupont, Siemens, and Dade Behring. Sheila and her husband moved to Orange Park in 2001 and both became agents with Watson Realty Corp. Two years later in 2003, the couple opened their real estate agency, Realty Sense, Inc., in Orange Park.

“We were always a team. If you asked the customers why they liked working with her, it was because she was always so sweet,” said Dale. “I was more about crunching numbers, and she was kind of my back office. She did all the hard work. She completed my paperwork and worked with the tough customers.”

In her later years, Sheila also served part-time as a substitute teacher for the Orange County School District. “Her interests, both professionally and personally, revolved around making connections with people. Her passion was in helping others, always,” said her daughter Candice.
