Leroy J. Favroth, Jr.
June 6, 1982 – July 23, 2023
It is with great shock and sadness that NEFAR has learned of the death of one of its newest members, Leroy J. Favroth, Jr. on July 23. Leroy, who was 41, was killed during a motorcycle accident on Interstate 10. He was fatally injured when his 2016 Victory Freedom motorcycle left the roadway and struck a guard rail at the 54-mile mark of the interstate, five miles east of Loxley, Alabama, in Baldwin County, according to Alabama Law Enforcement.
Favroth joined NEFAR on October 4, 2022, and was an agent with Navy to Navy Homes, where he worked as a team with his daughter Lauren. Prior to beginning his real estate career, Favroth served in the United States Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and had recently retired after 22 years of service.
“We at Navy to Navy Homes have lost one of our brightest shining souls,” said Mario Gonzalez, broker/owner of Navy to Navy Homes. “Leroy successfully graduated from the Skillbridge Program and had just begun his new career in real estate. He absolutely ‘hit the ground running’ as we would say in the military and had already created a team with his daughter, Lauren.” Favroth and his daughter had already helped numerous families find homes to buy and rent, said Gonzalez, noting the duo had received glowing remarks and reviews from the customers they had dealt with.
Gonzalez said Favroth’s rave reviews from his clients were not surprising. “He always had a smile on his face and was always concerned more about the welfare of others than he was about himself,” he said. “It is rare that you run into people that make your life brighter every day. Leroy was undoubtedly one of those people. I have no doubt that he has left a long legacy with every sailor he worked with and led. His echo will carry on at Navy to Navy Homes as well, and we are all better people for the short time we got to spend with him on this side of Heaven.”
