John Joseph McMenamy
April 22, 1944 – February 15, 2022
It is with real regret that NEFAR has learned of the death of John Joseph McMenamy on February 15.
A businessman with a longtime involvement with real estate in Northeast Florida, Mr. McMenamy joined the National Association of REALTORS® in 1995 and was a member of both the Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS® and the St. Augustine and St. Johns County Board of REALTORS®.
He graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in real estate economics in 1973 and worked in IT support for a time before beginning his real estate career with Watson Realty Corp. A few years later, he worked for REMAX before joining Realty Executives as a franchise and subsequently established his own company, Florida Coastal Jacksonville Realty, Inc., where, as broker/owner, he did sales and property management.
In his spare time, Mr. McMenamy enjoyed fishing, antiquing, collecting lighthouses, and traveling in his RV.
His wife, Carol Talacki McMenamy, and son, Aaron McMenamy, both work for Florida Coastal Jacksonville Realty, Inc. and are members of NEFAR. He is also survived by his daughter, Kara McMenamy, brother James McMenamy, two sisters Mary Ann McMenamy and Margaret McMenamy and two grandchildren, Logan McMenamy, and Gracie McMenamy.
