Former REALTOR® Helen “Marci” Miller-Smith passed away October 24. A longtime member of NEFAR, Miller-Smith, who was known as “Marci,” earned her real estate license in 1975 and joined the Jacksonville Board of REALTORS®, a precursor to the Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS®. She continued as a member of NEFAR until four years ago when she retired from real estate.

During her long 42-year career, she worked for Watson Realty Corp., Maronda Homes, and later for RE/MAX and Vanguard Realty Inc. GMAC alongside her husband, John Smith, who was also a REALTOR®. She finished her career with INI Realty, Inc. While she was at Watson Realty, she was honored with several awards for her stellar sales performance and was one of the top sellers in her real estate office for several years, said Smith.

“She was an incredible closer, that’s why we got married,” joked Smith. “Everybody loved her everywhere she went. She could get away with things that most people couldn’t,” he recalled.
