Harold Vincent “Buzz” Bumbarger

April 13, 1940 – June 22, 2022

It is with great sadness that NEFAR has learned of the death of Harold “Buzz” Bumbarger on June 22. A native of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Mr. Bumbarger was a NEFAR member for nearly 20 years. He was the husband of Dee Bumbarger for 61 years and worked alongside his wife in real estate for two decades.

“He was a quiet, gentle man, and in all that time I never heard him say an unkind word to anyone or about anyone,” said Dee Bumbarger.

Mr. Bumbarger met his wife while he was in the Navy and stationed at NAS Jacksonville. He worked for 27 years at the Jacksonville Shipyards in the Engineering Department as a designer draftsman. He also did contract work for the United States government for 17 years and during that period, he worked on getting his real estate license. In 2007, he retired from his career and went to work full time in real estate with his wife at Buck & Buck Inc. REALTORS®.

“He was a tremendous support person for Dee on her team,” recalled Cathy Whatley, broker-owner of Buck & Buck. “Not only was he a wonderful gentleman and friend, but he was very conscientious. At the time he joined Dee in the company, she was doing a lot of Fannie Mae foreclosure work. He was very devoted and did everything in his power to assist her. He was ethical, and accurate. He wasn’t looking for glory. Instead, he saw to it that her customers and clients were given the right treatment at all times.”

Mr. Bumbarger was very involved in NEFAR activities, even before he became a REALTOR®, remembered his wife. “He did a lot of volunteer work for the association years ago,” she said. “He knew lots of REALTORS® and loved everyone he knew. He enjoyed his time with NEFAR, the meetings and such. He enjoyed it all very, very much.”

There will be a small, private memorial service for Mr. Bumbarger’s family. NEFAR members who would like to express their condolences to Dee Bumbarger may telephone her or drop her a line. She would love to hear from you.
