Former NEFAR President Missi Howell of The Legends of Real Estate has been selected as one of 10 REALTORS® for the 2023 Florida Realtors National Association of REALTORS®(NAR) Mentor Program.
The Florida Realtors® program is for newly appointed NAR directors. Only 10 REALTORS® from within Florida are selected. NEFAR member Cathy Whatley of Buck & Buck Realty, who was president of NAR in 2003, is the chair of the committee.
“I am beyond proud and honored to have been selected,” Howell said. “I want to serve our members as a director to the best of my ability and having a mentor to help me navigate the path in the first year is invaluable.”
Howell’s mentor will be Mike Owen, who was president of Florida Realtors® in 1991. “I am looking forward to working closely with him next year in this program,” Howell said.
Howell is one of four NEFAR members who will represent NEFAR as a large association director on the NAR Board in 2023. Also serving are Marc Jernigan of Slate Real Estate, Clark LaBlond of The Legends of Real Estate, and Tiea Vincent of NXT Level Real Estate.
The point of the mentor program is to provide participants with continual assignments that will help them be fully prepared to discuss the topics that come before the committee and to be well informed to vote intelligently on the issues that will be decided by the NAR Board of Directors.
