Fair Housing month also provides a great opportunity for you to enroll in NAR’s Fairhaven and Implicit Bias training and to consider signing up for the At Home With Diversity certification course. NEFAR will be offering this in-person course on Friday, September 16 from 8:30 am – 5 p.m. at the NEFAR Resource Center. It will be taught by Gonzalo Mejia.
EDGE™
The Fairhaven and Implicit Bias Training as well as the At Home With Diversity certification are three of the requirements of admission into the NEFAR’s new professional society, EDGE™ (Ethics, Diversity, Goals, Excellence). NEFAR will officially welcome those who have qualified for EDGE™ membership during a special ceremony that will be part of NEFAR’s Fair Housing Luncheon Friday, May 13. The luncheon will be held from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Marriott Jacksonville Hotel in Southpoint.
Receiving their EDGE™ membership pins at that time will be Rory Dubin, Neil Bridgers, Fresa Alejo-Jones, Missi Howell, NEFAR CEO William Glenn East, Cole Slate, Richard Michael Morris, Jr., Carmen R. Llontop, 2022 NEFAR President Mark Rosener, and Melissa Kehres.
City Fair Housing Symposium
On April 23, NEFAR’s Government Affairs Department will sponsor lunch at the City of Jacksonville’s Fair Housing Symposium that will take place at the Jacksonville Public Library, 303 N. Laura St. During the symposium, speakers will discuss how the pandemic has affected the accessibility, availability, and affordability of fair housing in Jacksonville.
