Robust Northeast Florida Housing Sales Trend Continued in September
September marks seventh consecutive month with 2,200+ housing sales in Northeast Florida.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – September 2015 housing sales reports are now posted by the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors on NEFAR.com. Except where otherwise indicated, statistics reflect combined results for single-family residential and condominium properties.

For the seventh consecutive month, housing sales by Realtor members of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors topped 2,200; coming in at 2,293 for September. This robust activity was 12.7 percent more closed sales than in September 2014.

Pending sales for the month hit 2,234, a 15.2 jump from pending sales a year ago.

Homes sold quickly in September, with 76 days being the average days on market. Days on market during September 2014 was 83 days.

Median sales price for the month was $173,000; a 5.5 percent increase from a year ago.

A less than optimal inventory of homes for sale is another months-long trend, dropping 14 percent from a year ago to close out September with only 9,657 in the hopper. This equates to 4.3 months on hand; a significant 25.9 percent drop from September 2014. A balanced market is considered to be five- to six-months' worth.

NEFAR President Sally Suslak said, "Consumers should understand the reality that Northeast Florida’s real estate market is vibrant and healthy. Sales of more than 2,200 per month for seven straight months are a clear indicator that tells the story."
