Haven Hospice Holds Dedication Ceremony to Honor Northeast Florida Association of Realtors
Haven Hospice dedicates Palatka facility deck to NEFAR.

JACKSONVILLE and PALATKA, Fla. – Through its annual NEFAR Charity Bass Fishing Tournament held in Palatka, Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR) has raised more than $346,000 to support unreimbursed programs and services for Haven Hospice patients and families. In addition, NEFAR has created Rolling Attic Events and donated a large truck to Haven Hospice, both of which support Haven’s Attic Resale Store in Orange Park. Most recently, a new van as well as a replacement wrap on another truck were donated by NEFAR to assist Haven in delivering and gathering goods for the Attic Store.

To acknowledge and recognize their incredible generosity and hard work, Haven Hospice recently held a dedication ceremony and named the deck at the Roberts Care Center on the Satterwhite Campus for Care and Compassion in Palatka in honor of NEFAR. “Haven Hospice is a wonderful organization that has served the needs of many individuals and families in our northeast Florida communities,” said 2016 NEFAR President Terrell Newberry. “NEFAR is honored to be recognized by Haven Hospice for our ongoing partnership support during the past 13 years.”

Former Haven Hospice Palatka Administrator Marsha Davis Flowers, NEFAR Chief Executive Officer Glenn East and NEFAR Charity Bass Fishing Tournament Director Mike Oglesbee, along with others, worked together to create NEFAR’s Annual Charity Bass Fishing Tournament. For 13 years, the proceeds have been donated to support Haven Hospice patients and families in Palatka and the surrounding areas.

“Through the unwavering support of NEFAR, patients who did not have the means to pay received exceptional end-of-life care in their home or at the Roberts Care Center,” said Haven Hospice Palatka Administrator Deborah Strickland. “One hundred percent of the gifts and donations made to Haven through NEFAR’s Charity Bass Fishing Tournament remain in the Palatka area to help provide for unfunded patient care and unreimbursed services such as grief support, Camp Safe Haven, community and professional education, volunteer services and Haven Transitions. Haven believes everyone deserves a Haven experience when faced with a life-limiting illness, and continued support from NEFAR helps ensure Haven’s ability to meet that goal.”

The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors provides professional development, political advocacy, professional standards administration, media relations, and promotional activities and exchange of information among its members. NEFAR serves as the voice for real estate in northeast Florida; serving the public through efforts to protect private property rights and community affairs programs. NEFAR is Northeast Florida's largest professional association, comprising more than 6,500 members working in all facets of the real estate industry, including residential and commercial sales as well as property management. All statistics in NEFAR’s reports are based on data compiled from NEFAR’s wholly owned subsidiary, the Northeast Florida Multiple Listing Service (NEFMLS). NEFAR is headquartered in Jacksonville, with satellite Service Centers in Orange Park, Jacksonville Beach, Palatka and World Golf Village. * As all Nassau and St. Johns County Realtors are not participants of the NEFMLS; reports provided do not represent the full extent of Realtor sales in those counties.
