11th Annual NEFAR Charity Bass Fishing Tournament Set For April 26
All proceeds benefit Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - For the eleventh consecutive year, the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR) will raise funds for the Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka through a catch-and-release Charity Bass Fishing Tournament on April 26. NEFAR donates one hundred percent of all proceeds raised to Haven Hospice and has donated more than $187,000 from the previous 10 Tournaments.
Two-person fishing teams leave the Palatka City Dock at safe light, and weigh-in is scheduled for 3 p.m. Teams compete for prizes, including a $2,500 guaranteed payback for first place and a $1,000 guaranteed payback for the big fish of the Tournament. There is also an 80 percent payback to one in every seven boats. An additional $250 cash drawing for boaters who are present immediately follows the Tournament.
The Tournament offers activities for everyone, including a rock climbing wall, blow-up slide, children’s fishing tank and casting tournament, arts and crafts, food vendors, animal adoptions and more. The Camp Blanding Museum and the Wings of Dreams Aviation Museum will also be at the event.
Registration for fishing teams, as well as event sponsorship opportunities and complete event details, are available at NEFARBass.org.
Volunteer staffing is provided by NEFAR members and staff in conjunction with Haven Hospice team members. Tournament Director Mike Oglesbee of OGS Tournament Trail provides his expertise and time free of charge each year.
