* Arbitration
NEFAR's arbitration service is available to help you resolve commission disputes. You begin by requesting a hearing by an impartial panel of the Professional Standards Committee. The Committee reviews all pertinent evidence and testimony before rendering a decision. Arbitration is private and is a judgment by specially trained peers. There is a $250 filing fee.
* Mediation
Mediation is used to resolve commission disputes and is offered prior to or in lieu of arbitration. It is a voluntary process which the involved parties may discontinue at any time. Involved parties retain the right to arbitrate unless they execute a written settlement agreement. Only the involved parties decide on the outcome of mediation, thereby offering a range of solutions.
* Specialized Training
All members of the Grievance and Professional Standards Committees are provided with specialized annual training to assure that they serve you with the highest levels of competence, knowledge and professionalism.
* Trademark Protection
Only Realtor association members can use the nationally recognized Realtor trademarks / logos. Protecting your rights, NEFAR vigorously polices the use of Realtor trademarks by non-association members.
